JONONE has teamed up with Lacoste LIVE to create a capsule collection made of polos (of course), tee shirts and sweaters featuring his iconic “punishment” style!
To document that collaboration a short film, directed by Alexis DEFORGES, describes JONONE’s visceral need for creation and the obstination which he has painted with for over 30 years, writing repeatedly his name, determined to leave a track in the artistic landscape.
Tenacity is a common value shared by René LACOSTE and JONONE, as the tennis champion’s nickname (crocodile) was given to him for never giving up on the court.
This year, as a blank canvas, Lacoste offered to the artist an opportunity to throw his redundant yet abstract signature style on the iconic polo shirt.
An original soundtrack was composed by turntablists and loop masters trio BIRDY NAM NAM to illustrate this vision of the collaboration between an artist and a fashion brand.
